Welcome to my web site. I have a personally spent a great deal of time making a resource about real estate in various communities of Humboldt county. Humboldt County is the epitome of the phrase, “a great place to live, work and play.” But we are a strong diverse community that comes together for charity events like no other; we also have a well educated population. We have two higher learning institutions, my favorite, College of the Redwoods; I graduated from there and currently serve on the Board of Trustee’s. We have two major construction projects underway to help better serve the students. The second is the Humboldt State University located in Arcata; it has a great range of courses, a beautiful campus, and also has several construction projects in process. We are blessed with so many natural resources. The Pacific Ocean runs the entire western border. In fact a good percentage of our county is within the jurisdiction of the coastal commission. Numerous rivers that are excellent for fishing, swimming and rafting run thru the area on their journey to the ocean. Our county has an incredible range of housing opportunities. There are mobile home parks, condos, small and large lots, homes from 1870’s, and new construction. The historical home inventory is exceptional. There are homes off the grid and on 100 acre plus parcels. Just let me know what you are looking for and I will find it for you. Our prices are the lowest of any coastal community in California. As a community we are totally engaged in our charity organizations. We are outstanding at fundraising and supporting them. The community always comes together when there is a need. Two of the best known events for Humboldt County are the crazy kinetic sculpture race, held on Memorial day weekend and the Tour of Lost Coast, a 100 mile bike race. Besides the history of the logging era we are blessed with an area rich in Native American culture and sites. There are several large scale Native American celebrations every year. We still have commercial fishing in and out of Humboldt Bay. We have a very mild climate in most of the county. It is rare that Eureka goes below 30 degrees during the winter and above 80 in the summer. This weather makes for great hiking year around. And do we have the hiking trails. Our state parks are full of trails thru the redwoods, or along the ocean. You choose. American Demographics Magazine selected Humboldt County as the top county in America based largely on our geographical features. Our main local newspaper is the Times Standard. You will find extensive information through out the web site about the area, towns, homes, and myself. If there is something missing please let me know.
